Measuring Guide

Because slip collars do not open, measure the widest part of your dog’s head (typically in front of the ears). Ensure the collar slides over the head but contracts securely when tension is applied.

A properly fitted collar allows approximately two fingers between collar and neck when relaxed.

📏 How to Measure for a Slip Collar

Slip collars must fit over your dog’s head, as they do not unclip.

1. Measure the widest part of your dog’s head (usually just in front of the ears).

2. Measure the base of the neck.

3. Select a size that allows the collar to slide comfortably over the head while still contracting securely when tension is applied. Usually add 2" to head measurement and 3" from neck measurement. 

A properly fitted collar should allow approximately two fingers between the collar and neck when relaxed.
