At Chaotic Gear, we believe in transparency. This page outlines the materials we use and how to properly care for your gear so it performs its best.

Vinyl Customization Warranty & Care

Vinyl customization is covered for 30 days against application defects such as lifting or peeling caused by workmanship.

Because vinyl is a surface-applied customization, wear over time is considered normal, especially with:

  • heavy outdoor use
  • water exposure
  • saltwater exposure
  • dirt buildup
  • sand abrasion
  • friction
  • rough play
  • crate wear
  • improper cleaning

Frequent saltwater exposure, sand abrasion, and prolonged sun exposure may shorten the lifespan of vinyl customization.

To maximize longevity:

  • rinse collars with fresh water after ocean or saltwater use
  • keep collars clean and dry
  • avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing
  • allow collars to fully air dry before storage

Vinyl customization is considered a cosmetic add-on and is not guaranteed against normal wear after 30 days.

UV Print Warranty & Care

UV printed designs are covered for 90 days against print defects caused by manufacturing or application issues.

UV printing offers increased durability for detailed artwork and multi-color designs, but normal wear can still occur over time depending on usage and care.

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • scratching
  • chewing
  • abrasion damage
  • rough play
  • crate wear
  • improper cleaning
  • excessive friction
  • chemical exposure
  • damage caused by misuse

To maximize longevity:

  • clean gently with mild soap and water
  • avoid harsh chemicals
  • rinse after saltwater exposure
  • allow collars to fully air dry

Final print quality and longevity may vary depending on artwork complexity, collar usage, and environmental exposure.

🧼 Care Instructions

Keeping your gear clean helps extend its life and performance.

• Rinse with water after muddy use  
• Use mild soap and a soft cloth  
• Dry completely before storing  
• Store in a cool, dry place  

For vinyl or painted designs:
• Avoid scrubbing directly on designs  
• Do not use abrasive cleaners  
• Pat dry instead of rubbing  

⚠️  Safety & Use Guidelines

Important Safety Information

• Inspect gear regularly for wear or damage  
• Replace if signs of failure appear  
• Not designed for tie-out use unless specified  
• Not a chew toy  
• Supervise dogs when using tug toys  

Avoid saltwater exposure. If exposed, rinse with fresh water and dry completely.

Do not use with flea collars, as chemicals may cause hardware corrosion.

🔩  Hardware Notice

While Biothane® is waterproof, metal hardware is not corrosion-proof.

Environmental exposure such as moisture, salt, chlorine, and chemicals may cause normal wear over time.

Hardware wear is not considered a manufacturing defect.
